Start Ministep.
Do not answer the "Control File Name?" question.
Go immediately to "Edit" pull-down menu.
Click on "Edit/Create File with WordPad"
WordPad screen opens.
"Paste Special" as "Unformatted Text" what you just copied above.

It should look exactly like the block above.

"Save as"
Go to the C:\WINSTEPS directory
File Name: bond5.txt
Save as type: Text document
"Save"
"You are about to save the document in a Text-Only format ..."
Click "Yes"

Click on Ministep or Winsteps on the bottom of your screen
"Control File Name?" displays.
Press the Enter key
Find bond5.txt in the file list.
Click on it.
Click "Open"

"Report output file name ..."
Press the Enter key

"Extra specifications ..."
Press the Enter key

Ministep runs.
Ministep reports "Measures constructed"

Click on the "Output Tables" pull-down menu
Click on "13. ITEM Measure". The Table displays.
Scroll down to Table 13.2. This approximates Fig. 5.1
The items are in measure order along the pathway, see the left-hand column.
They spread across the pathway in the Infit Standardized central column.

Click on the "Output Tables" pull-down menu
Click on "14. ITEM Measure". The Table displays.
Table 14.1 matches B&F Table 5.1.
The mean difficulty of the items is ".00".

To cross-plot the person measures:
Write a PFILE= from the BLOT data.
In a PRTIII analysis, use the "Plots" pull-down menu, then "Compare statistics". Compare measures, and specify the BLOT PFILE=

B&F Table 5.2 p. 56

Click on the "Output Tables" pull-down menu
Click on "18. PERSON entry". The Table displays.
Table 18.1 matches B&F Table 5.2.

For the BLOT results,
Click on "Files" pull-down menu
Click on "Start another MINSTEP"
Press Enter and select BLOT.txt
Run MINISTEP and produce Table 18.
Adjust the two Table 18 windows on your screen to obtain the complete B&F Table 5.2.
